**Role Summary**:
**Educational and Skill Requirements**:
- Completion of an Industrial/Mechanical Technician program (or equivalent) from a recognized college.
- Certified ASQ Technician or working towards.
- Working knowledge and experience with IATF 16949 an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- CMM programming experience
- Ability to interpret written reports, correspondence, instructions, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to perform various computer functions (Microsoft Office, Q.S.I.) software and communication.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers, and customers.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion and tact.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines with accuracy.
- Ability to follow work instructions with mínimal supervision as well as part of a team.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Participate in PPAP team and related activities (PSO, etc.) for assigned elements including laboratory and dimensional related requirements.
- Provide instruction to employees on metrology techniques, as required.
- Assist in resolving non-conforming product issues for internal, supplier, and customer problems.
- Support customer and supplier corrective action activities.
- Audit and monitor quality requirements in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance policies and customer specifications.
- Compare recorded measurements to blueprint dimensions and tolerances.
- Must be able to read and interpret GD&T data and understand tolerance requirements as seen on a print.
- Understand, monitor, and maintain adherence to the non-conforming/containment procedures/processes.
- Audit the first-off/last-off processes and set-up verifications to ensure it is being completed properly.
- Perform accurate physical, visual, and mechanical inspection of components and sub-assemblies per inspection plans and specification requirements.
- Certify and perform gauge calibration on all measuring equipment and provide instructions for same.
- Dimensionally check stampings, fixtures, die models, and inspection aids to part print (GD&T), or appropriate drawing using the coordinate measuring machine (CMM) or other measuring equipment and prepare reports accordingly.
- Assist in developing control plans, perform tooling capability studies, checking fixture certifications and inspection instructions, and R&R studies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of all instructions/procedures for measuring equipment, including CMM, as well as fixture requirements for existing product lines and new product launches.
