Edmonton, Canada CEASE: Centre to Empower Survivors of Sexual Exploitation & Trafficking Full time

Job Overview:
As an employment specialist your primary responsibility is to provide comprehensive support and guidance to individuals in their journey towards sustainable employment and economic empowerment. You will work closely with survivors, assessing their skills, strengths, and career aspirations to develop personalized employment plans. Additionally, you will collaborate with community organizations, employers, and other stakeholders to create opportunities and remove barriers for survivor entering or re-entering the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

- Survivor-centered support which entails building trusting relationships with survivors, developing individualized employment plans, conducting comprehensive assessments to identify survivors skill set.
- Vocational guidance and training to help explore career pathways by offering vocational training opportunities, workshops and resources.
- Establish partnerships with local employers, businesses, and organizations to create opportunities and internships suitable for survivors
- Advocate for survivors in the workplace, providing ongoing support, accommodation, and resources to ensure their success and retention
- Resource coordination and referrals
- Documentation and reporting

Qualifications:

- Diploma or degree in Human Service
- Experience working with marginalized population.
- Knowledge of workforce development principles, vocational rehabilitation and career counselling techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural competence
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- commitment to social justice, empowerment, and anti-oppression principles.

**Salary**: From $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
