Summerhill Market is looking for a **Front-End Supervisor** to lead the Customer Service team at our **Aurora** location.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Oversee day to day Front-End operations including: offering exceptional customer service, sharing product knowledge with customers, recommending product add-ons, general bookkeeping/cash management and handling customer escalations;
- Merchandising product displays at the Front-End;
- Optimizing sales and service through direct customer interaction as well as providing coaching and management of their team’s sales and service tasks;
- Handle product damages and credits according to company policy;
- Meet with upper management on a regular basis and provide information and advise on any department issues including staffing issues, customer issues, merchandising opportunities and forecasting;
- Human resource management, including: hiring, training and the handling of any disciplinary issues that may arise;
- Supporting the coordination of product demos;
- Must be able to work any and all shifts, working a varied schedule in order to have the best overview of department operations. This means the ability to work weekends & holidays, openings & closings as necessary;
- Maintaining Health and Safety Standards as defined under the Health and Safety Act
- Additional duties as required

You are also responsible for:

- Operating the cash register, computers, payment processing equipment and scanners in the store, as well as itemize and total the purchases made by customers
- Completing all sales transactions and maintaining proper cash handling at POS registers with accuracy
- Rectifying price discrepancies
- Processing exchanges, refunds, and credits
- Maintaining cleanliness of your work area
- Assisting in floor moves, product display, maintenance, and store housekeeping
- Being a team player and helping your team members as needed
- Adhering to all company policies, procedures and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention

**Skill Requirement**:

- Passion for food - you are a true foodie at heart
- Dedication to delivering an exceptional Customer experience - you love our customers as much as we do
- Being an effective and positive communicator - having great listening skills patience and knowing how to de-escalate challenging situations
- 2 years+ of customer service or cash management experience in a grocery store setting is preferred. Leading by example and being an effective team player
- Experience with handling cash, and operating a register/POS (Point of Sale System) is an asset
- A Food Safety Handlers Certification is an asset
- Flexible availability to work morning, evening and weekend shifts with the ability to accommodate various shift coverage on short notice
- Comfortable standing for extended durations of time
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
