**Position Summary**

This position is part of the Regional Kidney Care Program (RKCP) based at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) and will provide services related to general nephrology. It is expected that the physician will participate in the provision of service at all satellite locations as required by the RKCP. Privileges at all RKCP Hospital sites will be required. Three satellite units located at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC), Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH), and Collingwood General & Marine Hospital (CGMH).

Shared coverage with the other nephrologists for the RKCP focusing on the clinical care of patients including:

- Chronic Kidney Disease (pre-dialysis) clinics
- Hemodialysis (in-centre)
- Hemodialysis (in-patient acute and chronic)
- Home Dialysis

On-Call:
? On-call responsibilities include regional coverage. While on call, acting as MRP for Nephrology-related indications for admission; severe AKI requiring initiation of dialysis, PD peritonitis, dialysis catheter line sepsis.

In-Patient:
? In patient management of patients with acute and chronic renal failure in ICU and medical units at OSMH.

Administrative and Quality:
? Participation in strategic planning and program development of surgical services.

? Participation in ongoing quality improvement and safety activities related to surgical care.

? Participation in hospital committees pertaining to medical practice and as required by the credentialed staff by-laws.

Utilization:
Utilization of Emergency room and other resources in an efficient/optimized manner.

RENUMERATION:
? Fee for Service

? HOCC for on-call

**Qualifications**

Experience and Skills:

- Experience with insertion of central lines and dialysis lines required
- Experience in home dialysis modalities or GN preferred

**Education**:

- College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted license that allows the physician to fulfill the requirements of this position
- Fellowship in Nephrology recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
