**Position Summary**

The Behaviour Success Agents (BSA) will support hospitals in the development and implementation of regional best practices and improve the
standardization of practice across NSM hospitals by providing clinical leadership and mentorship for staff in the assessment and management of older adults with cognitive impairment and responsive behaviours.

Key Deliverables
1. The BSA will support health care providers in their hospital site with the assessment and management of older adults with cognitive impairment and responsive behaviours.
2. The BSA will provide direct patient assessments
3. The BSA will provide patient consultation
4. The BSA will provide education/training
5. The BSA will provide mentorship and “just in time” learning

Specific Responsibilities
6. Advances the knowledge, skills and judgment of direct care providers through mentorship and through the provision of inservices, workshops and/or other appropriate teaching strategies.
7. Provides clinical leadership to hospital team(s).
8. Provides consultative case review support and, as appropriate, supports/participates in the Behaviour Complex Case Resolution process.
9. Builds strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and system partners.
10. Works collaboratively with the Community of Practice to develop, implement and evaluate the regional guideline, standards and tools.
11. Works collaboratively with the Community of Practice and their hospital team to develop a site-specific sustainability plan that would define, at minimum, plans for ongoing leadership, staff development as well as plans for the sustainability of project initiatives

Placement in union will be based on designation.

**Qualifications**
- Registration in good standing with Regulated Health Professional College,
- Minimum 3 years recent experience in the provision of direct care and/or providing clinical leadership and supporting to direct care providers,
- GPA & PIECES training required
- Experience in development of care pathways, clinical tools and education programs preferred,
- Proven knowledge and appreciation in care of older adults with cognitive impairment and responsive behaviours,
- Demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary care and evidence-informed practice,
- Ability to collaborate with others, mobilize a team and foster successful partnerships,
- Ability to strategically influence change,
- Proven decision-making, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills,
- Ability to work autonomously, and,
- Proficient with computer programs like Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, PowerPoint)
