WLIC offers a pathway to an undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University.

The main responsibilities include ensuring quality curriculum and that the content being delivered in and outside of the classroom, includes university life skills and sexual health education.

The instructor will work closely with Associate Director, Student and Academic Success to coordinate with Laurier resources (library, interfaith, security), to ensure the program is meeting the needs of students. Detailed knowledge of WLIC College support programs and philosophy and student life cycle is required.

**ILC101: Introduction to Our Learning Community**

**Essential Skills, Knowledge, & Experience**
- Master’s degree
- Professional experience in a relevant discipline area
- Demonstrated ability and experience in delivery of classes within a post-secondary teaching environment
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and meet agreed outcomes
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language
- Empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students

**Desirable Skills & Experience**
- Degree or certificate in the professional practice of teaching and learning and/or sexual health education
- Exposure to the academic needs and requirements of international students
- Experience in a multicultural environment and strong intercultural competencies

**Responsibilities**

The main responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to, preparing and presenting lessons (4 contact hours per week), tutorials, & workshops in an English-only format on academic and life skills, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for students, constructing and marking appropriate assessment instruments, offering positive feedback, as well as areas for improvement when grading assignments, and recommending a final grade for the course. Courses may be delivered in-person, online, or in a hybrid format. **What We Offer**
