**About the Perioperative Services Team**

The Perioperative Services team at Mount Sinai Hospital supports over 10,000 surgical procedures annually on the newly redeveloped floor which houses 19 state-of-the-art operating rooms and an adjacent Post Anesthesia Care Unit. This dynamic team plays a critical role in patient care, collaborating seamlessly with nurses, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to ensure that each surgical experience is safe, efficient, and patient-centered.

**In this role you will**:

- Assist with the timely starting of cases and case turnovers, inclusive of room set-up and routine cleaning, and the stocking of supplies and equipment to ensure all rooms are ready for use
- Assist with patient positioning prioritizing patient safety and comfort
- Assist with patient/stretcher/bed transfer across the Hospital supporting efficient patient flow
- Check/tidy/replenish procedure carts and point of use supplies and equipment as assigned
- Deliver specimens and blood requisitions to laboratories and pick up blood products for Perioperative Services
- Other duties as assigned by the Perioperative Services leadership team/delegate

Mandatory
- Successful completion of a high school diploma
- One (1) year of recent and related work experience; preferably in a perioperative environment
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position in order to perform the essential duties of the job which requires frequent reaching, bending, standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and walking for extended periods of time

Preferred
- Successful completion of OR Attendant Certificate

Skills and Knowledge
- Understand the difference between sterile, clean, and contaminated equipment
- Ability to take direction and work both independently and cooperatively in a fast-paced team environment
- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills
- Dependable, thorough and able to adapt to emergency situations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and read using English in order to effectively perform essential requirements of this position
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
