At Sinai Health, we care, create possibilities and offer hope. Sinai Health is looking for a skilled data analyst with a background in perioperative services who is aligned with our purpose to assume the role of Project Data Analyst, Perioperative Services.

**Position Summary**
The Project Data Analyst is responsible for supporting small to large projects in Perioperative Services to successful completion following standard project discipline principles and processes. With a key focus on data drivers, the Project Data Analyst is expected to attain an understanding of all projects and desired objectives to support the complete project lifecycle. The incumbent works with internal clients and external partners to clearly document key project parameters and ensures that Perioperative Services leadership and team members, other hospital departments, and vendors are kept abreast of data projects and outcomes.

The Data Project Analyst will provide support to current and future Perioperative Services projects with a specific focus on project elements associated with our Renew Sinai Development Project (Phase 3A) as the Perioperative Services elements of this project move to completion. Phase 3A which focuses on the following clinical programs: Emergency, Surgical Services, Intensive Care, Inpatient Care beds (non-ICU) and Ambulatory Clinics and the following clinical and non-clinical support areas: Materials Management, MDRD, Medical Imaging, Laboratory and Health Records. Renew Sinai is a multi-year redevelopment project with a series of “Projects within a Project” with many transitions completed or nearing completion, Sinai Health is mid-project with many significant transitions still on the go.

**Analytics and Reporting**:

- Generates regularly scheduled reports on Perioperative Services’ key data inputs and utilization metrics
- Analyzes key performance indicators (e.g. bookings to actual OR times, number of cancellations, number of emergency cases, room turnover times, etc.) and seeks to integrate data sources to develop reporting capabilities and valuable insights across systems
- Develops and maintains customized reports and statistical analysis for Perioperative Services leadership and key stakeholders

**Perioperative Systems**:

- Supports user access, data collection, data entry, and develops and ensures proactive data protocols and associated reporting for perioperative systems (e.g. SAP, CERNER, Pyxis, etc.)
- Ensures continuous perioperative system data refresh cycles (e.g. preference cards, procedure lists, etc.) and cascades to peripheral systems and the team to ensure the efficiency and accuracy
- Supports the preparation, implementation and monitoring of system projects, including preparing documents, reports, schedules, presentations, etc.
- Participates in the development, implementation, troubleshooting, upgrading and support of new or modified system functionality
- Responsible for the delivery of operational and technical support with day to day data management
- Maintains system report and role security access, ensuring that access to data remains confidential and adheres to best practices in data security

**Process Improvement**:

- Automates report distribution and conducts regular audits to improve data quality
- Partners with the leadership team to develop risk mitigation strategies to address any issues arising
- Participates in continuous quality improvement and system development initiatives
- Develops, maintains and updates technical documentation
- Assists in the development and maintenance of user guides/workflows/forms
- Provides regular project updates and assists with project documentation
- Performs other duties related to the positions as required
- Job Requirements- Successful completion of an accredited Health Information Management Program or equivalent required
- A minimum of two (2) years of recent and relevant data analytics experience within a hospital setting is required
- Applicants with proven equivalent recent and related training and experience may be considered
- Experience in a clinical setting required; direct experience in a perioperative services environment preferred
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite of products and use of Windows driven word processing, spreadsheets, graphs
