**Position Summary**:
The City of Fort Saskatchewan is seeking a confident, compassionate, motivated individual to join our Family and Community Support Services Team. Reporting to the Director, FCSS, the Volunteer Program Liaison is responsible for supporting the partnership program between the City of Fort Saskatchewan and Dow. This position will provide support for volunteer & community relations programs where Dow operates in Canada and City run events in Fort Saskatchewan.
**Responsibilities**:
- include, but are not limited to:
- Work with key stakeholders and community residents to promote volunteerism.
- Act as direct link between community groups, nonprofit partners and the City to Dow to create and facilitate impactful community volunteer opportunities.
- Project manage volunteer and community engagement initiatives and promote Dow’s Volunteer and Employee Resource Group Participation Policy and volunteer programming across Dow’s diverse and inclusive work force to inspire and recruit volunteers.
- Identify and mentor community & Dow volunteers.
- Manage regional utilization and awareness of Dow’s Web-based Volunteer Platform and use it to track and report volunteer data and insights.
- Coordinate with Dow Canada’s Community Relations Manager, City staff and other partners on the implementation of continuing education opportunities to increase knowledge of community needs, volunteer capacity, community impact and Dow’s reputation.
- Provide support to Dow’s Canada’s Public Affairs team to implement community relations activities.
- Create and share content on Dow communication platforms (social and Dow internal) to assist in storytelling, recognition, and reporting of volunteer engagement.
**Qualifications**:
A Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check will be required upon hire.
Duration: August 5, 2024, to August 1, 2025
