**As a valued member of the Hulse, Playfair & McGarry Team, the embalmer will perform all deceased care roles. The incumbent will ensure that the decedent has been provided with the upmost dignified care and be an important member of the team ensuring that the family experiences a very meaningful viewing of their deceased loved one.**

**Duties & Responsibilities**

**Primary Roles**
- Oversee the deceased care of all decedents entrusted in our care.
- Responsible for the verification and management of the decedent identity labelling.
- Responsible for the management and security of deceased personal effects.
- Responsible for keepsake items such as but not limited to fingerprints and locks of hair.
- Embalming: the disinfection, preservation, and restoration of standard and postmortem decedents.
- Dressing, cosmetology, and casketing.
- Responsible for ensuring that the human or cremated remains are set up for their visitation.
- Ensuring a disinfected, clean, and compliant Operation Room area.
- Provide care for cremated remains including but not limited to placing cremated remains in permanent receptacles, arranging for the temporary security and shelter of the remains and coordinating their transportation to our other chapels.
- Be the primary liaison between the AtNeed team and the Operation Room team when coordinating the repatriation of human or cremated remains.
- Comply with all regulations and laws respecting funeral service and care of the deceased
- Ordering of preparation room supplies
- Visitation room set up
- Assist the team with evening on call rotation

**Job Qualifications**:

- Possess a valid driver’s license. A Driving Abstract will be required.
- Active Ontario Funeral Director’s Class 1 license
- Strong team player who is professional and compassionate
- Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Proficient using funeral software
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
