**Manager, Venue Security & Credentialing**

**Role Summary**:
The Manager, Venue Security & Credentialing is responsible for the comprehensive oversight and development of security operations and safety of patrons at Rogers Place. The Manager will lead the Control Room Operators and Venue Security Agents as well as manage access control system, CCTV, radio, and intrusion detection systems, ensuring the use of advanced technology to protect assets and property.

**Core Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Responsible for the management, supervision, and development of Rogers Place Control Room Operators and Venue Security Agents, providing direction, guidance, leadership and conducting all performance reviews.
- Develop and lead department training programs for Venue Security Agents and Control Room Operators.
- Administer and manage all access control, CCTV systems, radio and intrusion detection systems.
- Remain current on and, where practical, deploy state of the art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard assets and property.
- Actively identify security threats and vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate or eliminate them.
- Collaborate with OEG marketing to create and maintain the credentialing webpage on the Intranet.
- Manage all OEG/Rogers Place event passes, including design, requests, and distribution.
- Develop and oversee temporary credentialing for all Edmonton based OEG events (i.e., WHL, NHL, Live Entertainment, and other OEG sponsored events).
- Ensure all security policies and procedures are aligned and in compliance with all applicable laws, bylaws, regulations and directives, including the venue Life Safety Plan, _Occupational Health and Safety Act_, NHL arena security standards, _Security Services and Investigators Act_ (SSIA) of Alberta, related municipal bylaws, other related provincial and federal and provincial acts.
- Review security logs, daily reports, and checklists and oversee all budgeting requirements for security operations.
- Manage hard keys and door locks for the venue by ensuring the key inventory is complete and up to date. Work with the contracted locksmith to replace broken locks and/or change locks for certain venue keys.
- Manage all venue two-way Motorola radios. Issue radios to departments as needed, ensuring proper inventory of all operating radios and batteries.
- Responsible for the overall security system documentation, reporting, and disclosure tasks.
- Manage the digital records generated by CCTV, access control, credential, and radio systems, specifically managing the access, retention, chain of custody, and release of information. Work with internal stakeholders to develop best practices, procedures, and policies for these digital records.
- Consult with users to identify new business requirements regarding credentialing, radio communication and access control and evaluate and recommend network hardware solutions to meet user needs.
- Conduct annual performance review for the Assistant Manager, Venue Security and Credentialing, Building Security Agents and Control Room Operators
- Manage event command policies and procedures and act as an Event Commander as needed.

**Education, Experience and Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of other education and experience.
- Five to seven years management experience in a large public assembly facility; preferably with sports and entertainment.
- Valid Alberta Security License.
- Proven knowledge & experience in performance management and tactical planning for major events.
- Effective supervisory and management experience, focused on performance development, leadership, and retention.
- Exemplary organizational skills, resourceful and proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
- Highly visible leader with a proven track record to successfully lead a multi service team.
- Must be able to work a business hour and event-based schedule which includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Experience with the Incident Command System (ICS) is considered an asset.
- Experience with ABI MasterMind is considered an asset.
- Experience with CCURE, Victor, Genetec and Omnigo operating systems is considered an asset.
