Development Officer

**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, the Development Officer, primarily provides support in implementing strategies and plans to raise funds for Mon Sheong Foundation. The Development Officer will work closely with the Development & Communications team through initiatives that lead to the achievement of annual revenue goals and other measures of success.
**Responsibilities**
- Oversee the development and implementation of multi-channel annual donor campaigns, from concept development to ensuring all multi-channel fundraising campaigns are delivered on time and on budget.
- Cultivate relationships with existing donors and sponsors; identify and establish relationships with new prospects; execute on solicitation including cold calls.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications teams to identify, and source, relevant and impactful content to create compelling multi-channel campaigns and donor stewardship communications.
- Manage and enhance awareness and annual giving opportunities for monthly, employees, tribute, 3rd party fundraising events and planned giving.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and integrate all branding design elements and fundraising messages associated with the annual plan, including appeals, impact reports, website and donor proposals.
- Expertise in creating successful direct mail, marketing materials, online giving appeals including social media, and campaigns including integration of online fundraising platforms.
- Cultivate and maintain positive interactions with the public and positive interpersonal relations with the Board of Directors, volunteers and prospects.
- Arrange meeting and prepare minutes of meetings as required.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support the overall goals of the Development team.
**Qualifications**
- Relevant post-secondary degree or diploma (Fundraising, Public Relations, Marketing, Business).
- A minimum of five (5) years fundraising experience within the charitable sector
- Demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful annual fundraising strategies
- Excellent computer skills, with a high level of comfort working in MS Office Suite.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge (RE NXT) or other CRM software programs.
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience with corporate/employee giving is advantageous
- Excellent people skills and ability to relate with donors.
- Capable of maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and work with tack and diplomacy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (bilingualism in English and Chinese is an asset).
- Able to contribute to the team as well as work independently.
