**Role Summary**:
The Residential Energy Modeler is primarily responsible for Takeoff Calculations and Performance Home Labeling Submissions as well as supporting the Energy Modeling Service team and the departments’ day to day service and tasks.

**Role Responsibilities**:
1. At the direction of an IDS mentor and or department Manager the Residential Energy Modeler will work towards providing day to day tasks in accordance with the Building Knowledge Canada’s company standards and conventions.
- IDS Modeling tasks include:

- Takeoff calculations for Volume and Surface Area
- Generation of Hot2000 Energy Modeling Simulation for the purpose of:

- SB12 Performance Path
- EnerGuide for New Homes
- Net Zero/ Net Zero Ready
- Performance Energy Modeling and Optimizations using company principles
- Performance Home Labeling Submissions (Reviewing inspection and updating Energy Model for label submission)
- Generation of company Widgets such as:

- Optimization Spreadsheets
- Project Profiles
- Internal database organization and data entry for systems such as:

- Asana Project Management Software
- BKC Energy Database
- BKC Customer Database

2. Ensure clear and helpful energy modeling support and consultative services to clients which:

- Are based on sound building science principals
- Reflect a keen understanding of the residential construction industry and related challenges

3. Maintain the BKC technical understanding and advantage

4. Contribute to Building Knowledge’s core vision to help improve the energy efficiency, indoor air quality, construction quality and sustainability of new and existing homes and buildings

5. Work closely with the manager of IDS to coordinate defined or specific projects undertaken by the Builder Services and Integrated Design Services divisions of BKC.

6. Perform day to day energy modeling duties:

- Performance Energy Modeling and Optimizations using BKC principles
- Performance Home Labeling Submissions (Reviewing inspection and updating Energy Model for label submission)
- Takeoffs (Volume/Surface area calculations for plan sets)

7. Update project tracking tools and ensure the department works seamlessly with all other departments

8. Ensure kind, healthy and communicative working environment is maintained with immediate EMS team and ALL other BKC team members.

9. Assist BKC field technical team members in regard to inspections and delivery of EnerGuide (New and Existing homes), ENERGY STAR for New Homes, LEED, R-2000 and CHBA Net Zero program delivery.

**Education, Experience and Skill Requirements**:
**Education**:
1. Post-secondary degree or technical college diploma

2. Architecture Construction Engineering Technology program - CET designation

3. BSc - Building Science. Environmental. Sustainability - highly beneficial

**Experience and Skills - Highly Beneficial**:
1. EnerGuide - Registered Energy Advisor (REA) with Natural Resources Canada
- Qualified REA for New Homes, MURB & Energy Star

2. Excellent knowledge of Ontario and National energy codes and best practices for houses and small buildings - Part 9 (e.g., NBC, OBC), understanding of green building standards and sustainability certifications, especially as it relates to Part 9 residential new construction

3. Excellent working knowledge of House-As-A system thinking and building science related concepts

4. CHBA Qualified NZ REA

5. HRAI - RASDT qualification

6. Ontario BCIN designation

7. Detail oriented with ability to prioritize

8. Proficient with Hot2000, AutoCAD, Revit, Excel

9. Excellent time management skills with the ability to set priorities and multi-task

10. Experience working within the residential construction industry

**Working Hours**:
Monday to Friday - Regular Business Hours (37.5 hours/week) with after-hours availability when required**.**

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
