**About the role**:
The Student Services Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless experience of students from their enrolment to graduation, for our language and diploma programs.

Reporting directly to the Campus Director, this position requires a blend of administrative skills, interpersonal finesse, and a deep commitment to student welfare. The Student Services Manager serves as a bridge between students, instructors, and administration, facilitating an enriching and supportive learning environment.

**Key responsibilities and tasks**:

- Oversee the registration process for incoming diploma students, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate and conduct orientation programs to familiarize students with campus facilities, academic requirements, and support services available.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to manage accommodation arrangements for students enrolled in language and diploma programs.
- Address accommodation-related concerns promptly, ensuring students' living conditions are conducive to their academic success and well-being.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for student inquiries, providing guidance and support on academic, personal, and administrative matters.
- Implement and oversee support programs aimed at enhancing students' academic performance, retention, and overall satisfaction.
- Handle student grievances and conflicts with professionalism and empathy, striving to reach amicable resolutions while upholding institutional policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with campus leadership to address any emergent issues or crises affecting student welfare or campus operations.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration among students, instructors and staff to enhance the overall student experience.
- Liaise with academic departments, student organizations, and external partners to identify opportunities for improving student services and programming.
- Maintain accurate records of students, accommodation, enrolment assignments, and service utilization.
- Prepare regular reports for campus leadership, summarizing key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement within student services.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies governing student services, accommodation, and student welfare.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends to continuously enhance the effectiveness and responsiveness of student support initiatives.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills in student affairs management, crisis intervention, and multicultural competency.
- Provide training and mentorship to student services staff to promote a culture of excellence, empathy, and inclusivity.

Your experience should include at least 5 years working and studying in an international education setting, and if you are bilingual in English/Japanese, English/Spanish, or English/Portuguese, it would be a real asset.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Previous experience in student services, academic advising, or related roles within a higher education setting at a career college or language school
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse student populations.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in student information systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of student support and programming.
