**Description**:
The Focused Ultrasound Laboratory at the Sunnybrook Research Institute in Toronto, Ontario is one of the leading laboratories in the world in the development of highly innovative, leading-edge technology for completely non-invasive image-guided surgery and targeted drug delivery. We are involved in a broad spectrum of projects ranging from technology development, modeling of ultrasound-tissue interactions, and evaluation of novel devices and delivery strategies in tissues and animal models. The technology being developed in our group will be used to treat benign or malignant tumours and a variety of neurological disorders non-invasively. Many of these projects are conducted with close collaboration with medical device industry.

We are looking for a motivated and serious individual to fill the role of Lab Manager in the Focused Ultrasound Laboratory.

Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

- Development and execution of Standard Operating Procedures
- Plan and allocate lab space and equipment as required
- Onboarding of new staff
- Plan, execute and manage yearly high school student summer program
- Determine and manage general lab supplies necessary for proper functioning of laboratory
- Oversee procurement, maintenance, and repair of laboratory equipment
- Coordinate, participate and/or support research experiments
- Plan lab events and meetings - book appropriate facilities for events
- Ensure staff and students are using laboratory equipment properly
- Ensure the laboratory complies with safety rules and practices and acts as participating member on Health and Safety Committee
- Analyze data from measurements for academic publications and internal reports
- Maintain lab website

Required Background:

- Master’s degree in Engineering or Science
- Demonstrated experience in practical laboratory measurements
- Proficiency in scientific writing
- Strong attention to detail, organized and efficient
- Able to manage multiple conflicting timelines and prioritize tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with other team members in a dynamic environment, as well as having compassion and sensitivity for animals
- Past hands-on rodent animal experience an asset
- Work is on site

This research lab is a truly multi-disciplinary team of individuals with backgrounds in physics, engineering, biology, and medicine. The clinical relevance of this work is high, and the pace of research is fast.
