Working under the supervision of Dr. Natasha Gallant, the Research Assistant will be responsible for carrying out research tasks for the Aging, Residents, and Caregivers (ARC) Research Unit. The Research Assistant will be involved in several research tasks, such as participant recruitment, data collection [i.e., questionnaires, individual interviews], data analysis [i.e., quantitative, qualitative], stakeholder engagement, and knowledge translation along with other related responsibilities. This job is ideal for students at the University of Regina who are completing a bachelor’s degree in psychology, intend to enter the honours program, and are currently seeking experience in research. Supervision and some training will be provided in this position.
Position Requirements
- 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student in psychology at the University of Regina who intends to enter the honours program;
- Experience with research tasks, including participant recruitment, data collection (i.e., questionnaires, individual interviews), data analysis (i.e., quantitative, qualitative), reviews (e.g., scoping reviews), engagement with patient partners, and knowledge translation activities (e.g., plain-language summaries);
- Knowledge about the Canadian Red Cross Friendly Calls + Program;
- Experience conducting patient-oriented research with aging, health, and/or long-term care populations;
- Must have strong organizational, time, and project management skills;
- Excellent computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software; digital calendars, file sharing, video conferencing, and workplace chat programs;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within an interdisciplinary team with mínimal supervision;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
