Position Summary

This role involves assisting with research for the project "Documentation Centre for Research on Missing Children and Unmarked Graves and Burial Sites Associated with Indian Residential Schools." The successful candidate will undertake and assist with research tasks, including leading and participating in research in archives, creating an annotated bibliography, and organizing documents and tasks. The position also requires strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as proficiency in locating journal articles and official reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in archives and assist with the creation of an annotated bibliography
  • Participate in knowledge translation, including presentations to communities
  • Organize documents and tasks related to the research project
  • Support the research team in research-related tasks
  • Collaborate with the research team to synthesize themes from a wide range of literature

Requirements

  • Currently registered undergraduate student at the University of Regina
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of issues tied to residential schools, colonialism, and the current realities of indigenous peoples
  • Training or experience in history, archival work, and/or knowledge translation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with locating journal articles and official reports

Work Arrangements

This position has the option for remote work arrangements, to be discussed with the supervisor.
