Research Assistant

Job Summary
The University of Regina is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support the Documentation Centre for Research on Missing Children and Unmarked Graves and Burial Sites Associated with Indian Residential Schools project. As a key member of the research team, you will assist with research, data collection, and knowledge translation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in archives and libraries to gather relevant information and data.
- Assist in the development of an annotated bibliography and contribute to the research team's knowledge translation efforts.
- Participate in presentations to communities and stakeholders to share research findings.
- Organize and maintain research documents and materials.
- Attend research team meetings and contribute to discussions.
- Support the research team in research-related tasks and activities.
Requirements
- Currently registered undergraduate student at the University of Regina.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of issues related to residential schools, colonialism, and the current realities of indigenous peoples in the region.
- Training or experience in history, archival work, and/or knowledge translation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in locating journal articles and other academic literature.
- Proficiency in locating official reports and statistics.
- Ability to synthesize themes from a wide range of literature.
Working Arrangements
This position offers the option for remote work arrangements, which will be discussed with the supervisor.
