**BFL CANADA is seeking a Claims Assistant for its Toronto Office**
As a member of the Claims team, you will directly report to the Claims Team Leader and work closely with lawyers, underwriters and adjusters. If you are looking for a dynamic work environment keep reading
**YOUR DAY AS A CLAIMS ASSISTANT**
- Set up new claims by finding the appropriate policy and preparing Loss Notice, open claim with appropriate subscribers and report claim within one (1) hour of receipt.
- Run Loss History Experiences for Producers and Marketing, as required.
- Correspond/communicate with Insured regarding claims status.
- Correspond/communicate with adjusters and examiners regarding status of claims and reserves.
- Accurately update pertinent information in EPIC.
- Draft letters to Insured’s and send cheques.
- Maintain filing system.
- Ensure all claims information is distributed to the appropriate people.
- Organize new claims in numerical and alphabetical order.
- Prepare monthly bordereaux when appropriate.
- Prepare mail as needed.
**OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE**
- Minimum 2 years of industry related experience.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work well independently, as part of a team and with others throughout the organization.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Customer focused and service oriented.
- Attention to detail and precision essential.
