Our client is a Kelowna-based cannabis company dedicated to cultivating premium quality cannabis in purpose-built indoor facilities.

The **Controller** oversees the Company’s core accounting and financial operations to ensure timely and accurate accounting and reporting of the Company’s activities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage core financial operations including: A/P, A/R, inventory and biological assets, payroll, accruals, journal entries, cash, banking.
- Support various Health Canada reporting requirements.
- Develop cost standards and procedures around inventory and biological assets.
- Design, implement and monitor internal controls; work with the Director, Financial Reporting to implement ICFR.
- Work with facilities to prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Conduct financial analyses that provide insight into the operations of the business, focused on the facility/operations level.
- Work collaboratively with the Director, Financial Reporting to complete monthly consolidated financial statement close process.
- Assist with the annual audit process performed by the company’s external auditors.
- Participate in due diligence activities associated with mergers, acquisitions & divestitures.
- Other duties & responsibilities, as assigned from time to time.

**Qualifications**:

- 5+ years’ experience post-CPA designation in a financial reporting capacity.
- Public practice audit experience required.
- Previous experience managing a team an asset.
- Experience in cannabis and/or manufacturing setting an asset.
- Understanding of current accounting pronouncements in IFRS.
- Excellent computer skills - MS Office.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects and prioritize deliverables.
- Detail oriented and proven driver of change and continuous improvement.
- Excellent verbal/written communications and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated capability as a team player with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Able to successfully obtain a clear criminal record check.

**Salary**: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

- Financial reporting: 5 years (preferred)
- Public Practice Audit: 3 years (preferred)
