Vice President Administration

The Vice President Administration provides leadership and direction for the institution’s administrative and financial services and departments including facilities management, technology, human resources, hospitality, and finance. The Vice President Administration works with the President and the University College Cabinet to implement the strategic goals of Booth University College (Booth UC).
**SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS**:Supervises all business administration departments including directly supervising Facilities Manager, Financial Services Manager, Hospitality Manager, Human Resources Generalist, Network Administrator and Administrative Coordinator.
This is a full-time position with 37.5 hours per week. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Direct and provide oversight of the University College’s financial and administrative operations including fiscal planning, budget development and control, accounting, inventory, information technology, human resources, legal issues, policy development, facilities management, hospitality and conferencing, environmental safety, contract administration and risk management.
- As member of the executive management team, work with the President and other members of Cabinet to implement the strategic goals of BoothUC.
- Advise the President on all matters pertaining to the finance and administrative operations.
- Oversee the administration of the various departments of the Business Office ensuring effective services are provided to align with strategic goals and support the long-term stability of Booth UC.
- Responsible for policy development and implementation including Business Policies, Sexual Violence, Accessibility, Emergency Preparedness, Workplace Health and Safety, Privacy, CASL.
- Develop and maintain a Risk Management plan, regularly discussing and updating the President on critical issues.
- Provides leadership for the Crisis Management Team.
- Responsible for financial matters including fiscal planning, budget development and management, and financial reporting to the President and to other internal and external audiences.
- Provide leadership for facilities planning and construction, capital budgeting planning and analysis.
- Provide leadership for hospitality and conferencing services.
- Provides leadership for Human Resources department.
- Provides leadership for the IT department.
- Serves as the Financial Aid Administrator and liaison with the provincial government regarding funding.
- Represent the President in select forums as required
- Work with President to strengthen relationships with The Salvation Army, providing effective liaison with Territorial Headquarters in key areas such as Finance and Property.
- Maintain effective collaborative working relationships with various departments, faculty, staff and student governance representatives.
**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:
- Satisfactory criminal record check
- Fully supportive of the integration of faith and learning in a Christian university-level setting and a commitment to the Mission of Booth University College
- Ability to integrate your Christian faith within the workplace
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or Master’s degree in Public Administration
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience at a senior management level
- Experience and expertise in strategic, comprehensive, multi-year budget development and implementation and the ability to articulate complex financial information to a variety of audiences
- Proven leadership/management skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate and involve individuals
- Effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to manage both strategic and operational matters
- A solid understanding of the Salvation Army, it’s mission and work
**PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES**:
- A Salvationist in good standing
