**Position Summary**:
Orienting, educating, and training new employees. Inclusive of but not limited to Charge Nurses, Medication Assistants, Resident Assistants, etc. Staff scheduling for nursing staff and assists with specific components of medication room operations. Working shifts and supporting front line staff when needed. Part of the on-call rotation with RCMs and the other Health Care Leaders. Responsible for covering staffing when needed. May work any shifts, day, pm, NOC and weekends, and or holidays to support to care for the residents.

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Meet state or provincial health related requirements.
- Demonstrate leadership ability with comprehensive knowledge of Nursing and health care practices and techniques.
- Maintain current CPR certification.
- Maintain current professional license (LPN/LVN/RN).
- Maintain any certifications as required by state or provincial regulations.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Educating and training employees through conducting new employee general orientation and regular education and training classes, including all requirements of federal and state or provincial regulations.
- Responsible for staffing and supervising Resident Assistants, Medication Techs and Licensed Nurses.
- Assure stable staff for both Arbor & Garden Resident Assistants by recruiting, hiring, supervising, evaluating, counseling, and, if necessary, terminating employees.
- Assure Charge Nurses, Medication Techs, Resident Assistants are educated and trained using the available Resource Manuals, assure Resident Assistants are educated and trained in Memory Care Resource.
- Assure regular competency evaluations of Charge Nurses, Medication Techs, Resident Assistants are completed.
- Develop, Direct and schedule refresher training as necessary for assigned staff and Licensed Professional Personnel.
- Maintain Daily Assignment system.
- Monitor to assure Arbor and Garden Daily Assignments duties are performed.
- Assure physician orders, laboratory reports, and other data is scanned and filed in resident chart.
- Assist Executive Director in developing and implementing QA program for in-service training.
- Ensure that employee files are completed in accordance to community policy, and state/federal or provincial regulations including but not limited to ensuring that all licenses and certifications are current.
- Order community health services supplies, adhering to health services department budget.
- Maintain Medication Room files per policy.
- Maintain Communication Log per policy.
- Maintain Tracking Reports binder per policy.
- Maintain Pending Fax Communication System per policy.
- Coordinate annual flu vaccine clinic.
- Conduct monthly fire drills in conjunction with Maintenance Coordinator.
- Coordinate and ensure monthly workplace safety and health committee meetings.
- Complete quality assurance audits as assigned.
- Assist health services employees with duties as necessary.
- Effectively communicate with residents, their family members, and other concerned parties.
- Maintain resident, employee, and community information in strict confidence (with community management or other employees as necessary).

- Adhere to all community policies and procedures.
- Adhere to dress/appearance code. (Changes in attire may be permitted for special circumstances as directed by your supervisor).
- Perform all assigned work for the agreed-upon wage, accepting no additional payment or gifts from residents, vendors, or others.
- Promote resident advocacy and demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Serve as a role model for other employees by displaying a responsible, cooperative, respectful, and positive attitude.
- Represent the community in the community at large in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner.
- Demonstrate ability to perform duties under time constraints and deadlines.
- Attend education and training classes as required by state or provincial regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
