We are currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our Hamilton/Government Branch. Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist will play a vital role in supporting the HR Department and ensuring the smooth operation of various HR functions. You will have the opportunity to contribute to recruitment efforts, assist with employee relations and workplace investigations, employee training and development, maintain accurate employee records, and provide support to all employees regarding HR-related inquires. Additionally, you will have the chance to participate in HR projects and initiatives that contribute to the overall success of the organization.

**A Day in the life at Bayshore**:
With the support of the HR Manager and department you will be:

- Responsible for the recruitment and selection of administrative employees
- Participate in the ongoing recruitment and retention initiative to increase branch capacity of all field employees.
- Schedule and arrange Orientation Sessions; conduct specific parts of the Orientation Session, such as payroll; benefits, preparation of photo identification cards, etc.
- Manage Workers Compensation claims documentation including filing reports, follow-up activities; participate in the development of modified work programs as requested.
- Participate in or lead the Health and Safety Program as directed by the HR Manager.
- Assist with progressive discipline and counseling of employees via our Performance Improvement Action Plan process.
- Maintain employee human resources files such that all required documentation, including copies of current professional registration, probationary and annual performance reviews, supervisory reports and continuing education documentation are included.
- Maintain past employee human resources files in conjunction with the Area Director and ensure that final performance reviews and/or exit interviews are included.
- Maintain current knowledge of provincial legislation relating to Employment Standards, Human Rights, Workplace Health and Safety, and Labor laws; assist the Area Director to handle real or suspected violations of legislated requirements.
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
- Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
- Participates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
- Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
- Complete other tasks as requested.

Job Qualification

**Who You Are**:

- Post Secondary degree or diploma in human resources or industrial relations.
- **Minimum 4 years** of progressive human resources experience in a fast-paced environment.
- CHRP/CHRL designation considered a strong asset.
- High degree of flexibility and ability to multi-task in a busy environment with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership and collaboration experience.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience with social, print, and visual media.
- Experience with MS Office Suite
- Data management skills and strong experience working with spreadsheets and databases.
- Experience handling contentious matters with sensitivity, confidentiality and balance.
- Strong knowledge of human rights, employment equity, inclusivity, and accessibility with and ability to understand and effectively communicate these principals.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is a requirement.
- Exact compensation will vary based on skills and experience.
