Collaborates with the research team to ensure timely communication, preparation and submission of study amendments and any other necessary documentation to the research ethics board. Completes case report forms and responds to data queries for clinical research patients in the follow-up phase. Collaborates with the research team to ensure that the research trials are conducted efficiently, accurately and in compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations.
Within this role the employee is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the Kingston General Hospital strategy. As an employee, one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care in all we do.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Collaborates with the research team to ensure timely communication, preparation and submission of study amendments and any other necessary documentation to the research ethics board within specific time lines. This includes completion and maintaining of regulatory and essential study documentations and submission to the research sponsors, as required
- Review of clinical charts in order to abstract required data including test results and medical reports to complete and submits research data forms and responds to data queries for clinical research patients in the follow-up phase, in a timely manner. This may include liaising with external agencies and or study patients for required study information.
- Collaborates with the research team to ensure that the research trials are conducted efficiently, accurately and in compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations and provides a variety of administrative and research support services (E.g. research database management, prepare for and collaborate with the research team to follow up on outstanding issues identified on monitoring, audit and inspection visits and maintain research intranet).
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Medical Office Administration Diploma (2 year) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful applicant must complete good clinical practice (GCP) certification and recertification as required
- One year clinical research ethics/regulatory and data entry experience within the last 3 years
- Proficiency in Medical terminology
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical charting and health record systems
- High level of verbal and written skills, good grammar, composition and spelling.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to set priorities appropriately
- Keyboarding of 40 wpm on test
- Word (Level 2), Excel (Level 2), Internet Explorer and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, courteously, and tactfully
- Ability to manage and meet the demands of internal and external interactions
- Ability to manage and complete work in a multi-task, multidisciplinary area, and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to provide high attention to detail to ensure accuracy and adherence to operating procedure requirements including meeting multiple deadlines as specified.
- Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
- Proven ability to attend work regularly.
- Satisfactory criminal reference check and vulnerable sector search required.
