**Pay Rate**: $45.00/hour + $2.00 night shift premium
**Bonus**: Health and dental benefits, tool allowance, pension plan
Automation technician is a member of the maintenance team and as such, participates in team efforts to achieve assigned department goals; works closely with other team members to ensure all maintenance activities are completed on time, according to SOPs and regulatory requirements; and provides support to other roles within the maintenance team.
- Provide technical support to operations; including troubleshooting, parts identification and repair of equipment and installation of machinery including electrical and electronic equipment, control systems and automation
- PLC and HMI programming changes and troubleshooting including modification and calibration of equipment; weight scales VFD, Servomotors and network communications experience.
- Primary responsibility for operational performance - measured through efficiency percentages
- Act as a liaison for OEM support for advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Participate in continuous improvement activities including root cause analysis and efficiency improvement initiatives
- Perform routine corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance as needed on automation equipment
- Lead training for operators and other technicians on function and operation of equipment
- Developing operating standards and documentation
- Provide input on stock levels of spare parts as it relates to equipment
- Read and interpret schematic diagrams
- Aptitude with mechanical and electrical systems, vacation coverage for either mechanics or electricians
- Electrical wiring and testing of automated systems
- Optimize equipment safety, efficiency and reliability, participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work orders according to PM schedules
- Comply with all applicable legislative and Bakery food safety, health and safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned
**Job requirements**:
- Diploma in Robotics Engineering or Robotics Automation or equivalent experience
- Must have Industrial Electrician License (442A)
- Instrumentation ticket a strong asset
- Experience and education in hardware and software support and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley systems
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude
- Problem solving skills and good communication skills are required
- 5+ years of industrial, electrical and mechanical experience preferably in the food industry, preferably with SIG and Siemens experience
