**Purpose**: The People Services Employee Relations Consultant will serve as a trusted partner to their assigned regionalized business group, leaders and Business Partners for all employee relations matters. They will be responsible for providing consistent and fair direction and support for sensitive matters regarding policy interpretation, disciplinary matters, terminations, investigations and other sensitive employee issues.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Act as an escalation point for issues that cannot be solved within the business unit
- Handle sensitive employee concerns and investigations, including interpersonal conflict in the workplace, terminations, employee complaints, ethics reports, and allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation
- Support ethics hotline investigations involving claims of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, as well as complex allegations related to violations of company policies and procedures
- Provide counsel and assistance to team members and all levels of management on employee relations issues
- Ability to maintain positive relationships to support employees & managers both in person and remotely
- High level of integrity; ability to handle confidential information ethically, professionally and appropriately
- Partner with People Services Business Partners and leaders to address and develop strategic plans for employee relations issues
- Provide professional and confidential HR advice to Business Partners on potentially sensitive matters and serve as central point of contact for policy interpretation, disciplinary actions and terminations
- Maintain accurate, timely, and required documentation of activities to ensure quality employee relations records and metrics
- Collaborates with other centers of excellence within the People Services function
- Actively engaged in performance management and supporting team member growth
- Provides feedback, advice and recommendations to help ensure fair and consistent administration of compensation practices throughout organization, including, but not limited to: merit increases, promotions, market adjustments
- Exercise sound judgment and expertise within defined policies and practices
- Maintain ability to work in a fast paced environment and effective manage competing priorities
- Consult and build relationships with all levels of team members
- Create guidelines, best practice research, and trainings to educate employees, managers, and other members of People Services in how to mitigate and properly address behavioral issues in the workplace
- Conduct exit interviews to gather insight into turnover trends
- Conducts People Services related training
- Active member of a larger People Services team to support overall department initiatives
- Maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business or related field
- Minimum of 5 years in HR Generalist or equivalent role
- Experience consulting on Canadian employment laws
- Experience consulting on multiple employee relations issues that vary in scope and complexity
- Ability to manage high volume of employee relations cases
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Bi-lingual requirement (English + French).

Hiring Range: $72,300.00 - $113,630.00
