We are looking for an accountant to join our team with special focus on receivables and collections cycle. The role is to cover an up coming maternity leave.

**JOB BRIEF**

The role is responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency of billing, expediting processing and monitoring incoming payments to ensure compliance with our payment terms, and completing month end closing procedures.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Processing accounts receivable, incoming payments and invoicing in compliance with financial policies and procedures;
- Verifies validity of account discrepancies and customer inquiries by obtaining and investigating information from sales, customer service departments and from customers;
- Review and approve Sales Orders, resolving issues related to credit limit, past due accounts etc.;
- Performing day-to-day transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording receivables data;
- Prepare reconciliations on General Ledger Accounts;
- Perform collection calls and complete all follow up (ie. documentation, sending statements or invoices).
- Assist AP with entering & coding bills into Netsuite. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies to ensure coded accurately and posted on time.
- Monitor coding accuracy and discuss any discrepancies with CFO.
- Set up and maintain new customer accounts
- Other duties as may be assigned.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Prior experience working in an accounting department.
- Comfortable making collection & follow up calls
- Highly organized;
- Extreme attention to detail, including data and input
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of reconciling statements and investigating discrepancies;
- Understanding relationship management with internal and external stakeholders;
- Ability to say "no" if required;
- Good computer skills;
- Knowledge of NetSuite would be considered an asset
- Minimum 1 year experience in AR/Collections, invoicing, and AP.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12-18 months

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
- Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
