Le Beau is a fast-growing French bakery in Toronto downtown. We are currently looking for a Pastry Cook who will help us to create our iconic croissants and other baking items for our customers.
This is a permanent, full time position with the following schedule **Wed-Thru-Fri
As we are growing fast there will many opportunities to grow with us.
Job duties include:
**Food Preparation**: Prepare and cook a wide range of food based on recipes, which includes baking creams, baking ingredients, crafting sandwiches, and creating pastries.
**Ingredient Preparation**: Properly portion, chop, and store ingredients for cooking, using baking and measuring tools and equipment for baked goods.
**Food Safety**: Follow and enforce food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene, to maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment.
**Appliance Monitoring**: Verify the correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, promptly reporting any issues to management.
**Sanitation and Cleaning**: Thoroughly wash and disinfect the kitchen area, setting up and breaking down workstations, and adhering to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
**Quality Control**: Continuously monitor the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout the shift to ensure consistency.
**Compliance**: Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to managers and complete required safety training and certifications.
**Professionalism**: Maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect confidential information, and respect company assets. Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and customers.
**Teamwork**: Foster positive working relationships with colleagues, supporting the team in achieving common goals.
**Quality Standards**: Comply with established quality expectations and standards for food preparation.
**Physical Abilities**: Be able to handle the physical demands of the job, such as lifting objects, moving over various surfaces, and standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
**Flexibility**: Be willing to perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
**Requirements**:
- Must have at minimum of 2-years of experience working as a pastry cook, baker or related field.
- Must have demonstrated experience in regard to baking pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, sweets and pies.
- College diploma or certification in baking and pastry arts and/or Red Seal or equivalent certification is considered to be an asset.
- Must be a team player and have the proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-pace environment.
- Able to lift up to 25KG of equipment and ingredients.
- Good to have relevant experience related to French pastry making.

Le Beau is a croissanterie, café and dessert bar located on Dundas Street East in Toronto.
At Le Beau, we specialize in croissants (one-of-a-kind in Toronto) and laminated dough, but we also offer a small selection of high-quality seasonal pastries and bakery items. Everything is rolled and baked daily in-house and is limited in stock.
Our Chef trained in France and worked at a renowned patisserie in Paris. She values the highest quality ingredients, craftsmanship, simplicity and tradition in everything she creates.
Our core strength is rooted in a solid understanding of our customers, while our brands continue to stand out thanks to our passionate teams who embody our values. We believe in utilizing locally grown ingredients when available. There are no additives or preservatives because everything is prepared daily, and best enjoyed same day.
