**Program Leader - Master of Fine Arts**

We are looking for an established fine artist with a strong background in education to lead the MFA in Fine Arts program by operationally managing the academic leadership, program design, assessment, evaluation and managing faculty and staff.

**What will you do?**

Reporting to the Campus Director, you will provide effective leadership that inspires other and ensures that the program contributes to the School's reputation as a leading provider of fine arts education. You will ensure the delivery a consistent and comprehensive experience for students during the student journey, including orientation, teaching and assessment. You will be the lead on all aspects of the MFA program delivery, managing the annual teaching planning process including class timetabling needs, assessment and moderation, and be the key liaison point on all general teaching matters with the program.

You will provide academic leadership to academic staff on campus, providing teaching and guidance on academic processes and procedures. You will support the Campus Director to select, recruit, train and actively develop academic staff.

You will participate in the development of annual operating budgets and monitor budget expenditures, ensuring the effective management of School resources.

You will provide research leadership towards strengthening the School's capacity for enhanced research outcomes in the discipline.

You will lead self-assessment within the School and contribute to self-assessment across the School to ensure an evaluative approach to quality assurance.

**What do you need to have?**
- Hold a minimum MFA in Visual or Fine Arts, doctoral degree preferred
- An established history as an exhibiting artist
- Experience leading an academic program
- Proven experience managing a team of academic staff
- Fiscal management experience
- Proven capability as an academic leader involved in research and teaching programs
- Effective communication and relationship management skills with the ability to build trust and create a motivating environment for staff and students
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to identify opportunities and risks for the School and incorporate these into strategic planning
- Ability to make sound decisions about the use of resources in order to achieve departmental goals
- A commitment to multiculturalism and cultural diversity in the development and delivery of research and teaching programs to enhance outcomes for students and other stakeholders

**Some of the duties will include**:

- Teach a set number of courses as agreed with the Campus Director
- Engage in research that directly supports the School's MFA program and leads to measurable outputs
- Fulfil expectations as set in the Board approved strategic plan
- Participate in School events including Graduations, Open Days, all staff meetings, and other such events
- Serve on relevant School committees
- Oversee or participate in special projects

**This is a permanent full-time position. Compensation is competitive based on applicant qualifications and history.**

**Hours are: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm, there may be some evening and weekends required.**
