**Program Manager, Neuromotor & Orthopedics Programs**

**What you’ll do**
- Directs the strategic planning process and coordinates the process of operational planning across the Program. Integrates specific goals and objectives into the activities of the clinical services ensuring linkages with individual performance plans, and quality management initiatives. Communicates program and unit strategic direction incorporating Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Children’s & Women’s (C&W) vision, values and strategic direction and ensures integration into practice by interdisciplinary team members.
- Prepares, monitors, and analyzes staffing, and operating, and capital budgets for the service delivery cost centres in collaboration with Program and Professional Discipline leadership. Allocates and manages available resources within these budgets to ensure the delivery of interprofessional services within the Program. Collaborates in the development of the program budget to complement strategic directions within existing fiscal constraints and uses best utilization methods to monitor and adhere to allocated budget. Develops effective and efficient practices and processes to measure use of resources and the quality of care rendered within the allocated budget.
- Manages service area operations by assessing and monitoring staff/patient ratios and supplies based on patient acuity and staff skill level. Approves adjustments to staffing levels to meet patient/family needs. Defines an effective workforce plan for Program in collaboration with key partners and stakeholders that ensures the availability of adequate staff within the context of operational demands and environmental and resource constraints.
- Develops a plan for staffing within the Program in collaboration with the appropriate Professional Practice Leader and nursing leadership, and participates in the interview and selection process for interprofessional and support staff.
- Implements performance management processes in an interdisciplinary team environment. Ensures that probationary and annual reviews are completed for all Program staff, working in collaboration with Nursing Leadership and Professional Practice Leaders. Supports peer review by care team and program staff.
- Leads Program service development and planning activities through work groups and projects, and monitors progress and outcomes. Initiates, recommends, implements and evaluates objectives, policies and procedures, and standards of practice related to patient and family care together with various resources including nursing leadership and Professional Practice Leaders
- Monitors quality outcomes, and assists in the development of methodologies, quality indicators, evidence based outcomes, and accreditation and audit activities in conjunction with the Medical Director and Senior Director, Operations. Oversees risk management activities in collaboration with the Management team. Leads the incident review process, following up on incident reports (patients, families and staff), and communicating outcomes and subsequent practice changes. Includes the Professional Practice Leader in incidents involving professional services staff.

**What you bring**
- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Masters Degree in Nursing or a healthcare related degree from an accredited University, plus a minimum of seven (7) years recent related clinical experience. This will include two (2) years working in a managerial/leadership capacity.
- Current registration/membership with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) or the appropriate recognized professional association.

- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and to promote teamwork.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects. Demonstrated understanding and experience of quality assurance process, operational planning and program development.
- Demonstrated ability, both written and oral, to communicate effectively with patients, families and staff.
- Demonstrated problem resolution and critical thinking skills.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
