The **Canvas LMS specialist** administrator position includes all LMS administration duties. This position will work closely with instructional designers, IT colleagues, and vendors to address the LMS needs and issues of students and faculty. The LMS Administrator will use excellent interpersonal communication skills to establish strong relationships with vendors and campus units to ensure efficient processes and successful outcomes. The LMS Administrator will be expected to contribute to discussions and decision-making activities by the team or committees related to content, functionality or any requested changes to the LMS and its affiliated systems.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that courses are imported correctly from the Student Information System onto Canvas.
- Ensure that instructors and students are imported correctly from the Student Information System into the appropriate courses and sections in the LMS.
- Provide support for instructors and students having issues with the LMS.
- Monitor the internal ticketing system for LMS-related issues and address issues appropriately.
- Assist in drafting communications and alerts within Canvas.
- Responsible for maintaining security roles within the LMS.
- Canvas system administration, training, maintenance, and it’s supported integrations
- Canvas Data support.
- 3rd party tool administration (examples include Rollcall, Turn it in)
- Academic system process support, improvement, and maintenance.
- Be willing to take on additional administration duties for other integrated solutions.

**Requirement**:

- Bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience as an LMS administrator required - ideally Canvas.
- Experience of working in an educational setting with minimum of three years’ experience also preferred. E
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as PowerBI, preferred.
- Knowledge of e-learning, remote learning and/or instructional technology tools preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to solve computing problems are essential for this position.
- Must be able to provide technical assistance effectively and professionally to faculty, students, and staff.
- Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented and be able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

**Educational Experience**:

- Experience in instructional technology support in higher education is preferred.
