**As a Maintenance Supervisor,** this position is responsible for the overall maintenance and servicing of the Oakville NRO Home Office, Oakville DRC, Scarborough Office and DRC, CRC’s and Thrift Stores in the East Central Region, and the surrounding grounds. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of contractors in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds and equipment. This role reports directly to the Property Manager.

**Accountabilities**:

- General facility maintenance, preventative maintenance procedures and basic contracting including but not limited to plumbing, drywall, taping and mudding, flooring (tiles, carpet, laminate), painting, cabling, lighting (bulb changes), minor repairs, store fixture installation and redesign.
- Ensures accurate record keeping, informing various levels of leadership with project progress and status.
- Interacts regularly with external contractors to ensure timelines are adhered to.
- Conducts moderate troubleshooting of building systems and calls in other professionals when required.
- Purchases necessary tools and equipment to complete approved work orders.
- Maintains maintenance logs, coordinates, and participates in scheduled maintenance procedures; ensures maintenance guidelines are in compliance with warranties and contracts.
- Ensures supplies are received, stored, and redistributed to the appropriate departments.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
- Note: Certified contractors will be utilized for electrical repairs or other tasks requiring licensed professionals.

**Health and Safety**:

- Ensure prescribed equipment, materials and protective devices for repairs, renovations and maintenance are provided.
- Ensure Occupational Health and Safety legislation and company policy are adhered to during repairs, renovations, and maintenance.
- Take all reasonable precautions to protect workers during repairs, renovations, and maintenance.
- Ensure regular inspection of all retail locations.
- Ensure all contract personnel hold valid provincial insurance coverage.
- Working at heights certification.
- May be required to obtain scissor lift training.

**Working Conditions**:

- Work is sometimes conducted in disagreeable conditions such as noise from equipment & shop tools.
- Working in confined spaces and heights (performing overhead maintenance and/or repair work up to 35 feet up), inclement weather and extreme temperatures (heat/cold).
- Role requires frequent travel to NRO Thrift Stores and other NRO sites within Ontario. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

**Maintenance Supervisor Skills and Qualifications**
- 5+ years’ experience in general contracting and maintenance
- Proven time management, organization, and planning skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Satisfactory background check
- Valid Ontario G Drivers License and satisfactory Ontario Drivers Abstract.
- WHMIS training; ladder safety training; Standard First Aid/Level A or C CPR.
- Can safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools, company vehicles and machinery (i.e., grass mowers, snow blower, snow brush, power washer, etc.)
