**THE JOB**

Reporting to the General Manager - Oakwood, the Maintenance Supervisor will coordinate the installation, repair and maintenance of the facilities and equipment. Working with external technicians and maintenance employees as appropriate, their job is to organize, monitor and/or supervise the maintenance operations of the Oakwood facility.

The Maintenance Supervisor provides technical assistance to all employees as required and ensures that operators and employees follow all maintenance and safety standards while performing their responsibilities at the Oakwood facility.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Planning, prioritizing, assigning, supervising, reviewing and participating in all tasks related to facility maintenance.
- Developing methods and schedules for facility maintenance.
- Ensuring that all maintenance protocols are being followed on schedule.
- Responsibly handling emergency situations or after-hours calls for repair and maintenance as required.
- Taking part in developing maintenance policies and standards for the organization.
- Coordinating training sessions in facility maintenance, safety procedures, and methods as required.
- Planning daily tasks and coordinating third party repair and support as required.
- Maintaining preventive maintenance standards for the organization's facilities and equipment.
- Routinely inspecting the buildings and grounds, fire alarms, security cameras and sprinkler systems for deficiencies and/or damage.

**Health and Safety**:

- Report all incidents, accidents, and/or hazards.
- Participate and/or cooperate with the Joint Health and Safety Committee to improve safety.
- Wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Conduct daily safety and maintenance checks of forklift.
- Perform housekeeping activities as required.
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) particularly the “Duties of Workers” as stated in Section 28.

**Employee Relations**:

- Communicate with administrative, and supervisory staff as required and in a timely manner.
- Perform compulsory overtime as necessary and in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
- Participate in training as required.
- Comply with company rules, policies and procedures of Weston Forest as stated in the Weston Forest Guiding Principles Handbook.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ability to identify issues and decide on required actions.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance, environmental health and safety standards.
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certificate is an asset.
- Experience in maintenance trades (plumbing, pipe fitting, electrical, millwright) is an asset.
- Competence to plan maintenance schedules.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and delegation skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Strong understanding of basic math and measurements.
- Competency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Critical-thinking skills.
- Dexterity and physical stamina.
