The National Events Specialist will report to the National Director, Sponsorships and Events work alongside the entire staff and volunteer team including city centre staff and lay leaders, volunteer committees and event chairs to support, manage and enhance CHW’s national and local events. The National Events Specialist will focus on event management, volunteer engagement, program delivery, logistics and stewardship. Internally this position works cross-functionally with other teams (Marcom, IT, Finance, and Development). Externally this role will work with volunteers, committees, event participants and other event stakeholders. This role will support the growth and sustainability of the national and local events portfolio including but not limited to A Work of Heart Online Art Auction, Fashion Blooms, National Garage Sale, Journey 4 Impact to Israel, webinars, local city centre events and chapter events.

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**

A self-starter who takes initiative and works proactively, the National Events Specialist will be a strong leader, organized, and able to coach and motivate volunteers.

This is a hybrid role with 2 days in office. We offer a competitive, comprehensive compensation/benefits package, a flexible working environment, and an opportunity to grow with our organization. **Compensation**:
$55,000 - $65,000

**Responsibilities**:
**EVENT SUPPORT**
- Share new and innovative ideas to grow event revenue
- Build and deploy surveys and debriefs and assist in the analysis after event campaigns, including creation of debrief documents, post-event meetings and documentation
- Project manage events, including creation of critical paths, recruitment, logistics, budget, volunteers, and execution
- Provide administrative support to event committees including, but not limited to, meeting scheduling, minutes, and action reporting
- Assist the marketing team with sponsorship material for solicitations and briefing notes for staff and volunteers
- Engage in corporate sponsorship solicitations as required
- Assist with the day-to-day management of sponsors, vendors, and individual registrants and tracking
- Project manage an event portfolio
- Provide logístical support and execution of national signature events, Toronto Centre events, Toronto Chapter events and other centre events across the country as required actively managing an event portfolio
- Develop commitment forms, agreements, individual event budgets and work back schedules (critical paths)
- Offer support for organization non-revenue generating events, stewardship, donor recognition and third-party events
- Provide effective mentorship, training, encouragement, support, and leadership to staff, volunteers, and lay leaders to ensure collective attainment of annual and long-term financial goals through events, are achieved
- Actively participate in key committee meetings

**FUNDRAISING**
- Coach volunteers and participants with fundraising ideas and tips to reach their revenue goals
- Report on event budgets, provide regular reports on event performance. Monitor incoming funds in relation to your events
- Work in collaboration with internal teams across CHW to ensure sponsorship benefits are met and post-event debriefs are provided in a timely manner for sponsors
- Provide fundraising updates to regional colleagues on event performance
- Achieve event revenue targets through maximizing event participation, donations, GIK donations and sponsorship
- Utilize and set up online event registration, crowdfunding, peer to peer pages through Luminate Online and other peer-to-peer software platforms

**MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS**
- Input and track deliverables from Marcom team
- Work alongside the Marcom team and strategize promotion of events
- Manage participant registrations for Luminate Online

**Qualifications**:

- College or university degree and/or post-graduate event management certification or equivalent combination of education and work experience in related area
- 3+ years demonstrated success in all elements of special event planning and execution. While a broad base of philanthropic knowledge and event experience is preferred, proven success in the areas of design, coordination and execution of major revenue-generating events is required
- Excellent organizational interpersonal, project management, and communication skills, written and verbal
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Luminate Online, Microsoft 365, peer to peer and crowdfunding fundraising software
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to think strategically and work independently within a multi-disciplinary team
