**Orientation and Training Assistant (8 Week Term - Canada Summer Jobs)**

This position is responsible for support of a wide variety of duties in support of the training and administrative needs of the Winnifred Stewart Association. The Orientation and Training Assistant will support the People & Culture Department with planning and administration of orientation and training programs for all employees.

We are looking for someone who is able to use their creativity, a self starter and a quick learner who enjoys working with people, presenting helpful information with excellent tracking skills.

It is expected that the incumbent be flexible and maintain confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact at all times.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Create a training calendar and process to track and administer training
- Provide administrative support and coordination of Health and Safety programs and training
- Assist with the organization and scheduling of new hire training
- Track all mandatory training expiry dates and assist in scheduling staff for training
- Ensure new hire orientation and training is completed, and all required documents are collected
- Assist staff with training registration and monitor their progress
- Receive course reports and certificates from trainers and upload into the database for tracking

**EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A high school certificate, Diploma or post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline
- Minimum of 1 -3 years’ experience in orientation, training and development and health and safety
- Proven ability to create training calendars, checklists and organize data
- Attention to detail and reliability in recording and documenting
- Comfortable with Excel, Word and SharePoint
- Communication skills (written and verbal)
- Intermediate understanding of technology, including the internet, MS Office products
- High attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Strong presentation, written, and verbal skills.

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

- 35 hours a week for 8 weeks.
- Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm
- Pay rate $18.00 /hr.

As per Canada Summer Job eligibility requirements, all applicants should be between the age of **15 and 30 years**at time of employment and must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
