The Big Picture:
Howden is a global engineering company who focuses on providing customers with industrial products and processes, which advance a more sustainable world.

We are looking for an accomplished Payroll Analyst, whose priority is to process payroll for multiple provinces in Canada. The purpose of this role will be to analyze and resolve issues with payroll processing, primarily in Canada, while partner with other payroll analysts in US.

What needs to be done?- Process Canadian payrolls, Provincial WC payments and associated reporting including final review and reconciliation of Canadian annual tax slips- Collaborate with internal partners such as HR, Benefits, Tax, Finance and HRIS to solve issues to enhance accuracy and improve productivity- Provide support for payroll projects and other project opportunities as they arise.- Identify and participate in process improvements, including various software solutions and implementations and upgrades- Assist Payroll Manager with annual audits such as SOX, 401k and Worker’s Compensation.- Analyze and resolve issues with payroll processing. Document and communicate inconsistencies using the appropriate channels and follow through to fruition- Work closely with other Payroll Analysts to provide excellent customer service- Ensure compliance with provinces legislation- Perform system analysis, determining how the various timekeeping, ERP and financial systems should work and how changes in data, conditions and operations can and will affect the output- Collaborate with the Payroll Analysts in US when it’s needed

What do you need to bring?- 5-7 years of payroll experience in Canada- Experience to process payroll in multiple provinces, especially in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec- Experience with Workday and Ceridian or similar systems- Ability to process multiple payrolls accurately and on-time without exception- Strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities- Team player with excellent communication skills- Must have excellent customer service skills- Basic knowledge in US Payroll is desirable
