**The Position**

Reporting to the Community Member Division (CMS) Division Manager, the Interim Lead - Regional Treatment and Wellness will be responsible for engaging with the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), shishalh Nation and neighbouring First Nations to gather input and foster collaboration during the feasibility study, start-up phase and on-going during operations. **This is a 2-year termed and full-time position with the possibility of extension.**
- Identify funding opportunities, coordinate a comprehensive suite of pre-treatment health services, manage post-treatment social services, oversee contractors and operations, and collaborate on the feasibility stage's service delivery model and program design.
- Collaborate with FNHA and the architectural firm on the feasibility study.
- Lead the establishment of a non-profit society to operate the centre.
- Build relationships with other First Nations communities in the region, facilitating their involvement in the project. Seek input and facilitate genuine collaboration.
- Ensure a trauma-informed approach in the centre's treatment and healing practices.
- Integrate land-based healing modalities into the centre’s design and healing model.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, priorities and methods for providing pre-treatment health services (withdrawal management) and post-treatment services (transitional or 'sober living' housing).
- Coordinate engagement with indigenous community members (especially those with lived experiences) so they can guide program development and input into the architectural design.
- Actively seek and establish partnerships with other organizations, including those offering similar services, to enhance the centre’s offerings and reach.
- Perform other duties within the scope of the position, as assigned.

**Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**:

- Minimum of Bachelor’s in public health or related field of studies, such as Allied Health, Social Work, Behavioral/ Sciences, or Clinical Psychology.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in developing drug abuse prevention, harm reduction, intervention, and treatment strategies.
- Experience in the health systems/services and working with First Nations individuals, communities or organizations on issues related to health and wellness.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary service partners and stakeholders.
- Understanding First Nations history, intergenerational trauma, and a positive approach to supporting communities will be a great asset.
- Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- A Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector) is required.
- Ability to write clear and accurate reports.
