**Department Overview**
TD’s Digital Strategy, Innovation and Payments focuses on accelerating TD's innovation agenda to position TD for the future. The team is comprised of 4 pillars: Enterprise Innovation & Design which steers our innovation agenda and leads the Design Center of Excellence; Enterprise Payments spanning strategy through to large-scale execution of payments initiatives; Digital Strategy which connects Line of Business strategies to ensure we have an Enterprise Digital Strategy that positions TD to win in the market and finally External Ecosystems which leverage partnerships and strategic relationships across industry ecosystems.
This role reports to the Head of Enterprise Innovation and Design, the VP Intellection Property and Ideation is a senior leader within Digital Strategy, Innovation & Payments, responsible for overseeing a team of innovation professionals. The general accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:
- Executive advisor and driver of internal innovation processes, hackathons, code camps and ideation
- Design and stand-up the Innovation community of practice though managing the cross-pollination of best-practices, success stories, assets/frameworks, and skill development; including the management and support of a network of innovation champions
- Accountable for the bank's patents and intellectual property portfolio, working with enterprise partners to assess and guide the development of enterprise IP
- Manage the origination and prioritization of the COE’s small “i” innovation portfolio
- Build an enterprise culture of innovation through the network of champions and recognition for Innovation wins
- Manage a defined idea submission process and governance process, supported by collaborative development tools ensuring targets for year over year growth in engagement and value are met and exceeded
- Implement centralized tracking and governance for the enterprise small “i” and intellectual property portfolio, reporting and advising on the portfolio composition and targets up to the Senior Executive Team
- Create process and assets for product market fit hypotheses and testing, to support teams (Journeys, Platforms, Business) building into innovation
- Own and operationally run the banks Enterprise Ideation platform (iD8) including enhancing and optimizing the platform for the needs of our varied businesses
**Job Requirements**
Specific Educational Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree required; Post Graduate degree preferred
Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- Highly effective communicator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees
- Understanding of the Bank's strategy and how to align intellectual property
- Bias for action and speed when it comes to building internal frameworks and capability to support innovation
- Strong people management skills with demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams
- Excellent relationship management skills, effectively supporting multiple complex relationships with a superior ability to make things happen using positive influence
- Expertise in working effectively in teams - requires a track record of working cross-organizationally and with multiple stakeholders at varying levels
- Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
