Nokiiwin Tribal Council needs one (1) experienced, knowledgeable, and motivated Health & Safety Wellness Advisor. Working in a team centered environment, the Wellness Advisor will work alongside both the Health & Safety Advisor.

This position will be guided by our G’minoomaadozimin “We Are Living Well” Health & Safety initiative aimed to enhance the health and safety, mental health practices, supports and resources following Anishnaabe Culture and practices for Nokiiwin member First Nation communities by capturing the teachings and the intention for how each of us respects one another, our workplace, and our community.

**Summary of duties**:

- Facilitate services that helps member First Nation workplaces improve health and wellbeing
- Support the implementation of psychological health and safety within the workplace, including traditional and cultural aspects of the Anishinaabe
- G’minoomaadozimin Steering Committee to develop mental health practices, supports and resources following Anishnaabe Culture and practices for Nokiiwin member First Nation communities.
- Arrange consultants and/or supply training services on workplace wellness
- Consult on priorities, develop workplans and budgets
- Seek innovative solutions, pursue more resources, measure success
- Build a central source of information, support professional networks and advocate on behalf of communities

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in one of the fields: psychology, social work, sociology, nursing and/or business administration with proven experience in project management.
- Experience with project management and project management principles
- Knowledge of mental health and lateral violence realities from a First Nation community and organizational context
- Experience working with Nokiiwin First Nations communities and organizations
- Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong documentation ability with the ability to meet stringent deadlines
- Experience with facilitation and community engagement
- Mental Health First Aid and/or Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is an asset
- Experience in the delivery of workshops and training
- Experience with business writing and communications
- Possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration with proven experience in project management.business administration with proven experience in project management., nursing and/or business administration with proven experience in project management.
- Experience with liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Must be computer literate including MS Office and internet use
- Fluency in Anishinaabe, knowledge and appreciation of Anishinaabe culture and heritage are assets
- Valid driver’s license and current satisfactory criminal reference check is needed
- Ability to travel to and work in Nokiiwin communities
- Successful completion of a Level 1: Police Criminal Reference Check
