The **Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator** will be responsible for sourcing and buying supplies, materials and services. Key responsibilities include managing day to day inventory to ensure that the office, production, secondary and maintenance teams have the product they require to meet demand. They will successfully manage vendors, increasing inventory turnaround and sourcing high quality products at the best price, delivered on time and complete.

This is a 40-hour a week position consisting of:
**Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm**

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Manage plant inventory and optimize processes along the supply chain
- Build strong supplier relationships to mitigate risks around undesired long / short inventory as well as resolving supply shortages, understanding the root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Optimize inventory management by carefully balancing appropriate level of supply to allow flexibility, minimize overstock in keeping with our sustainability and financial goals.
- Assist with conducting inventory cycle counts and investigating cycle count variances
- Placing replenishment orders with suppliers & make continuous improvement recommendations that remove waste and add value to our existing processes.
- Expedite purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to manage day to day activities, request for quotes with suppliers, materials are set-up for ordering, extended to all relevant locations, and ensure goods are delivered to the plant to enable business continuity.
- Work closely with sourcing team on cost savings projects, booking volume contracts, and negotiate with suppliers.
- Review problems with invoices including discrepancies, resolve the issue and correct any documentation or errors.
- Additional duties as assigned

**Essential Qualifications**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills, exercise good judgement and critical thinking
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Strong PC skills, including proficiency with MS Office
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel
- Excellent customer service skills
- Self-motivated and detailed-oriented
- Ability to adapt to every-changing environment
- Strong work ethic and collaboration
- Ability to assess and mitigate risk with vendors and suppliers through well-structured agreements
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external support groups

**Education and Experience**
- Post-secondary education in purchasing, inventory control or supply chain management.
- Minimum 3 years’ related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory control techniques such as Kanban, ABC Analysis and visual inventory (considered an asset).
- Experience reviewing and drafting vendor agreements

**Language Skills**:

- Ability to read, write, and speak English

- The individual possesses fine hand manipulation (keyboarding) skills.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
- May require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Capable of properly wearing a respirator and other applicable safety equipment, as required.
- Successfully complete respirator fit testing

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
