**Position**:
- Supervisor, Purchasing, Edmonton**Location and Reporting Structure**:
Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain, this position will be based in Edmonton, Canada.

**Responsibilities**:
- Supervise the buyers and expeditor by providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure efficient and effective purchasing of equipment, materials, and site needs as requested;
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders and the search for potential suppliers and negotiate terms and conditions of purchases;
- Monitor supplier performance, addressing any issues that arise and ensuring adherence to quality, delivery, and contractual terms;
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiation, bulk purchasing, and strategic sourcing;
- Oversee inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory;
- Continuously assess and refine purchasing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and optimize resource allocation;
- Ensure compliance with B2Gold Nunavut’s procurement policies and site procedures during the process of shipping and receiving materials; and
- Promote and comply with B2Gold Nunavut’s site safety procedures and policies.
**Competencies and Requirements**:
- Six (6) years of experience, with a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory capacity in purchasing, expediting, contracts and/or procurement in the mining (preferred), construction, or heavy industries;
- Possession of SCMP or studying towards a Supply Chain professional qualification and post-secondary diploma or higher in procurement, supply chain, commerce, or related required;
- Excellent vendor communication skills, strong time management skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines and receiving critical orders on time; and
- Experience with enterprise level financial, procurement, and inventory software, is a strong asset.
