Côté Gold is being developed in partnership with the Mattagami First Nation, Flying Post First Nation and Métis Nation of Ontario, Region 3.

The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

**Accessing Opportunities at Côté Gold**

**Junior Mine Technician**

The Junior Mine Technician is responsible for providing reliable, consistent and timely information pertaining to surveying, drill & blast, mine design, geotech and mine planning activities. Actively gather and seek field and operational information by measuring, inspecting and testing. Use various tools and technologies to acquire data, process, analyze and transmit to clients. Report and communicate progress.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Area 1**:
Deliver effective and reliable technical data.
- Assist in surveying, planning, drill and blast, drafting and geotechnical processes.
- Monitor development of production areas.
- Create mine layouts and other mine drawings under the direction of the engineering team.
- Use instruments and equipment to take samples and readings as required.
- Conduct surveys, mappings, pick-ups, scans and tests in specified locations.
- Assist with technical proposals and design layouts.
- Maintain accurate data, records and documentation.

**Area 2**:

- Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
- Continually seek to improve your skills.
- Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost).

Qualifications

**MINIMUN QUALIFICATIONS, FORMAL, CERTIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALETS**:

- College diploma in mining technology or another related field.

**WORK EXPIRIENCE - NATURE & LENGTH**
- A minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
- Previous experience in mining (specifically open pit mining) is considered an asset.

**ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS- COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS**
- A valid Ontario driver’s license is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
