**Job Description**:
The Supervisor of Accounts Payable will be responsible for the full cycle of AP and interpreting and explaining organization’s internal financial controls, policies, and procedures. The individual will also be required to resolve common and complex AP errors or problems, oversee an accounts payable specialist and ensure accurate and timely payment to vendors.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, coach, and mentor the Accounts Payable team
- Assist with ensuring system and process documentation is maintained
- Strive to automate manual AP processes and continually look to enhance internal policies and procedures to increase productivity and efficiencies
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of policies and authorizations, as well as the impact of prompt approvals, while educating cross-functional stakeholders
- Prepare/review month-end AP close processes, including account analysis, reconciliations and review monthly accruals
- Coordinate the timely processing and of invoices and complete approval of invoice journal entries
- Oversee the re-charge reimbursable expenses to internal and external customers and manage receivables and collections
- Communicate with cost centre owner or vendor requests and inquiries
- Conduct research on more difficult or complex inquiries
- Ensure process and procedures follow company policies, acceptable accounting practices, and applicable regulations
- Provide technical and administrative supervision for accounting personnel responsible for accounts payable
- Coordinate the timely processing of invoices or billings
- Problem solve and resolve issues/concerns as they arise on a proactive basis

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- 5+ years of full cycle high-volume AP experience, with 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of account payable concepts and basic accounting (debit and credit, journal entries etc.)
- Proficient knowledge of Excel
- AP experience for multi-entity and multi-currency organization strongly preferred
- Experience with online banking and wire payments beneficial
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP would be an asset
- Time management skills with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated and demonstrates excellent work ethic and a willingness to learn
