Electronic Scrap Material Handler

John Ross & Sons is currently seeking an Electronic Scrap Material Handler to join our team in Halifax As the largest scrap metal recycling facility in Atlantic Canada, we seek energetic and safety minded individuals to join our expanding team
**Duties and Responsibilities include**:
- Sort received electronics based on type of technology (Cell phones, Tablets, Laptops)
- Accurately Identify and grade received e-scrap materials.
- Check, count, weigh, and sort all received e-scrap materials.
- Manage, catalogue and track all materials received, ensuring all inventory records are up to date.
- Effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Comply with safety regulations at all times, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs repeatedly and for extended periods.
- Maintain a clean work area, equipment, and overall warehouse organization.
- Load and offload shipments of materials from containers, trailers, and trucks.
- Transport materials and equipment throughout the warehouse manually or using powered equipment (If certified and qualified)
- Operate automated container counting equipment.
- Fulfill orders by packaging necessary materials and preparing them for shipment.
- Carefully store all e-scrap materials in designated/ appropriate areas.
- Perform other labor and elemental activities as assigned.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Standing for long periods of time
- Reliable and dependable
- Steel toed boots
- Ability to carry and lift up to 50lbs repetitively
- Ability to work outside full-time in all weather conditions
- Ability to maintain and organize inventory is a priority
**Working Conditions**
- Work is performed both indoors, and outdoors in all weather conditions (Extreme cold, heat)
- Potential exposure to loud noises, dust, and other environmental factors.
- Must be able to bend, crouch, lift, lean and stand for extended periods of time.
