Please be advised that a permanent Digital Platform Coordinator position is available with an initial work assignment in Edmonton within the IT Department.
As a Digital Platform Coordinator, you will plan, extend, and support the AUPE digital platform and member portal. You will manage the Drupal platform that powers the AUPE member experience internally and with external support vendors, as needed. You will be required to make annual plans and meet with business areas within AUPE, as required, to identify needs and qualify projects.

**Qualifications**
- Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Ability to work on multiple projects and manage tasks with minimum supervision
- Be a thought leader and maintain a current knowledge of web design and development best practices
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices is preferred
- Robust portfolio demonstrating successful website administration, design, development, and management
- Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices
- Extensive experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including pre
- processors and common JavaScript frameworks
- Excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Proficiency in backend technologies such as PHP, particularly with Drupal development
- Familiarity with Laravel or similar PHP frameworks
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

**Experience**
- **Previous**: a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience leading web development
- and design projects
- At least five (5) years’ experience with Drupal and other Content Management Systems
- Proficient in web analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to monitor website performance and user behaviour
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and cloud services (e.g., GCP, Azure) is a plus
- Business analysis - requirements gathering and process mapping
- Project management
- Training skills
- Technical writing & writing for the web
- **On the Job**: Twelve (12) months on the job to become familiar with AUPE specific technology and AUPE policies and procedures.

**Key activities**
- Lead the development and maintenance of the Drupal-based digital platform, ensuring high performance and availability.
- Weekly work planning and prioritization.
- Conduct quarterly work planning and digital strategy planning.
- Implement and manage Drupal content types, views, and custom modules.
- Work within a design system to extend and improve HTML, CSS and JavaScript components.
- Document work and code, following test-driven development best practices.
- Consult with leaders across the organization to identify and qualify new projects.
- Improve the MyAUPE area by implementing personalized content and features tailored to individual members’ needs and interests.
- Manage relationships and work packages with external technology vendors.
- Review existing AUPE website analytics data to gain insights into member behaviour and preferences and identify areas for improvement to enhance communication.
- Develop interactive tools and resources that empower members to engage more actively with the union and its services.
- Design wireframes and workflows to ensure new features will meet the needs of all parties.
- Write functional requirements based on needs as identified within projects.
- Collaborate with business units to gain better understanding on how to improve workflow and process efficiency.
- Develop a strategic testing road map for the team based on the agreed upon business and product requirements.
- Provide reporting to the management and executive team on performance of the web channel.
- Manage operational budgets and report on financial outcomes of projects.
- Lead product and infrastructure discovery, design, and review sessions.

- Assist in troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis on more complex production issues.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and

- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with the membership, public and other employees.
- Ability to gather and analyze organizational requirements in consultation with end users, management and executive.
- Provide backup to the Website Administrator, as required.
- Other duties may be assigned as required based on operational requirements.
