**Cultural Advisor, Indigenous Law Centre**:
**PRIMARY PURPOSE**:To promote Indigenous cultural understanding among students, faculty and staff.
**NATURE OF WORK**: Reporting to the Dean of the College. The individual will work collaboratively with college leadership, faculty, students and staff to bring awareness to the College’s community of Indigenous culture. The position requires some travel within and around Saskatoon.
**ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- Provide Indigenous cultural perspectives, awareness and guidance to the College community (both internal and external) which may include conducting workshops;
- Promote a cultural understanding among students, faculty and staff in the College by being an educator of traditional knowledge;
- Work with our community justice faculty on community education projects to include Indigenous content and perspectives within curriculum development;
- Provide cultural support to our students;
- Assists in the delivery of traditional knowledge land-based courses;
- Enhance linkages to the Indigenous community; and
- Available to meet with college community to discuss Indigenous culture, issues and Indigenous pedagogy.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**:An undergraduate or graduate degree or equivalent experience in the delivery of traditional knowledge to the legal community.
**Experience**: Community and family recognition and respected for having years of knowledge that is accompanied by wisdom, kindness, and appropriate behaviour. Experience in the area of law and community justice.
**Skills**:Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; and high levels of energy and empathy; ease and comfort working with a wide array of people including Elders, Knowledge Keepers, community members, students, faculty, and staff; patience, caution, humility and kindness; and the ability to multi-task. Can inform students of the significance of what language holds. Fluency in Cree, Dene and Michif is considered an asset.
