World Class Manufacturing Lead

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsibilities:
- Lead the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) team toward a culture of Continuous Improvement at Plastcoat
- Provide training to all employees so that they clearly understand the concepts of improvement (standardization/MPS/5S/TPS/Lean etc.)
- Lead Kaizen events and coordinate implementation
- Manage and promote Continuous Improvement System (Big Ideas)
- Provide ongoing tracking, analyzing, reporting and communication of continuous improvement initiatives
- Make presentations at Employee Communication Meetings
- Lead teams toward the cost savings goal established annually
- Maintain a detailed understanding of MPS Best Practices and share best practices with others
- Develop and maintain model lines as per MAFACT guidelines
- Conduct Value Stream Mapping and Process Mapping, developing opportunities from these
- Work toward a mindset of Lean and elimination of waste
- Look for new, innovative ideas to further strengthen our Employee Involvement teams to improve overall operations
- Lead the improvement of MAFACT Assessment scores through auditing and coaching leads/participating in creating improvement opportunities
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity
- Supervise staff within the department, providing training, mentoring and performance management to ensure employee productivity and effectiveness
- Perform regular formal/informal workplace inspections
- Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior
- Perform and ensure team performs all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace
- Comply with the requirements of C-TPAT/PIP
- Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct
- Train employees on the specific job hazards
- Enforce safety rules and correct unsafe acts or conditions
- Be involved in the accident/incident investigation process
- Inform Plastcoat Management of any additional training or resources required by their employees to effectively perform their work
- Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF16949 standards
- Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook
- Encourage and support the Open Door Process, as well as the Fairness Committee and Employee Advocate
- Ensure that all employee questions, suggestions and concerns are addressed in a timely manner; communicate regularly with all employees
- Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
- Ensure work area is kept neat and organized
- Perform other duties as required

**Key Qualifications/Requirements**:

- Skills / Qualifications:

- EDUCATION:
- Minimum completion of post-secondary education in Engineering or related field

EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related field (i.e. Manufacturing/Industrial/Quality Engineering, Project Management, CI Coordinator/Black Belt, etc.)
- Previous leadership experience an asset
- Experience in automotive industry an asset

SKILLS:
- Extensive knowledge of MPS/Lean Manufacturing principles
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and build effective teams
- Strategic thinker
- Results-oriented and able to work under pressure
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate in MS Word and spreadsheet programs
- Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills
