**What We Are Looking For**

PortaLaw is looking for a smart and efficient individual to fill a full-time Legal Assistant role. This position has the opportunity to grow into a Case Manager role.

**Primary Job Duties**

The Legal Assistant will be responsible for:

- Organizing client files.
- Filing matter correspondence.
- Tracking limitation dates and file deadlines.
- Preparing, editing and proof-reading routine correspondence.
- Court filings.
- Coordinating service of court filings.
- Maintaining the firm’s precedent system.
- Providing support to the firm’s Operations Coordinator, including back-up coverage for client intake.
- Other duties as required.

**Job Skills**

You must have strong communication and critical thinking skills, be able to multi-task, and have a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment. You must pay attention to detail and be able to manage deadlines. This job requires that you be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and that you are already familiar with, or are willing to learn Microsoft Teams, Adobe and Clio.

**Attitude**

The Legal Assistant role is dynamic and demanding. We are a small team, and we expect you to work collaboratively. You must be excited to take on all types of projects, large and small. It is essential that you are reliable and honest.

**Work Experience**

At least two years of relevant work experience as a legal administrative assistant or legal assistant.

**Compensation**
- $50,000 to $60,000 annual base salary
- Participation in our team bonus plan
- Paid time off
- Extended health and dental benefits including short-term and long-term disability
- Work-from-home stipend while working remotely

**Job Location**

We work hybrid, meaning part-time from home and part-time from a shared office in Mount Pleasant in Vancouver. We will assist you with setting up a home workspace. If you don’t have a private home workspace, you will be able to work full-time from our office.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
