**Procurement Specialist** for a development stage mining project located in Ontario.

**General Responsibilities**:

- Follow Project and Client supply chain policies and standard industry best practices in sourcing, purchasing and contract administration, including the preparation, review and issue of contractual documentation and the implementation of effective commercial measures to facilitate the efficient and well-controlled execution of the work under contract.
- Assure that the Project’s purchasing activities are conducted in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Execute sourcing and contracting strategies, including RFI/RFP, evaluation, award reviews, agreements, POs, change notices, claims management, terminations and contract close out as required.
- Plan and execute procurement activities in order to support project objectives in terms of cost/budget, schedule and supply quality.
- Maintain interface with the project team on procurement matters.
- Monitor the project procurement status and provide regular status updates. Pro-actively works to resolve issues related to procurement cost, quality and delivery.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, including negotiations, frame agreements and purchase orders.
- Escalate issues requiring advanced expertise or knowledge about the broader business impact of decisions.
- Develop and maintain all documentation required to support effective contract life-cycle management.
- Support the continuous improvement and execution of procurement practices to support savings.
- Perform other duties as assigned and required.

**Skills / Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or Engineering plus related certification, professional designation or certification in related area (considered an asset)
- 5+ years in Procurement; experience in the Mining and Metals sector is an asset.
- Northern Ontario experience considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; strong interpersonal and technical skills and a professional demeanor
- Excellent computer literacy skills and skills in MS Office Suite
- Experience with ERPs (SAP and JDE)
- Good understanding of commercial & legal principles in Ontario as relates to contracting

**Work Location**:

- Work to be performed from LQ Oakville Office with visits to Client office in downtown Toronto as needed to perform project duties. Potential project site visits from time to time.
- Full Time / Fixed Term Contract

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $40.00-$60.00 per hour
