Position - Compact Operator
Location - Earl Turcotte Facility

**Reporting to**: Facility Supervisor
Shift - 2AM - 10:30AM Monday to Friday with Rotational Saturdays
Start Date - ASAP

**Responsibilities**:
In the position of Compactor Operator, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Your main area of responsibility will be to hook up trailers to any or all of the three Compactors.
- When all the trailers are done being loaded you will be required to clean the compactor room and report to the tip floor for spotting duties.
- Also in this role you will be responsible for the support of the current transfer station Loader Operators.
- Operation of any of the three compactors as well as a Skid Steer.
- Complete understanding of the required Hand Signals for spotting vehicles;
- Spotting all required vehicles to the recycle bins or transfer as required;
- Inspect and remove obvious contamination from loads;
- Ensure Personal Protective Equipment is worn
- General housekeeping duties, yard clean up, Punctual with good attendance
- Ensure you aware of and always work within MWS’s safety guidelines
- Operate a front-end loader - pushing piles and feeding metering conveyors
- Preform and document inspections and maintenance on the machinery prior to the facility opening for the day.
- Assist other positions as required
- Comply with ISO procedures, Standard Operating Procedures and all Health and Safety Regulations and Policies
- Inspecting the workplace for hazardous and/or potentially hazardous conditions
- You will be required to fill in for any vacations or sick calls, while providing continuous supervision in all other called upon responsibilities
- Ensure that all work is performed safely, cost effectively and in a timely manner
- Ensure that the entire outside grounds and the facility inside are clean and organized at all times
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:
**Preference will be given to individuals who have**:

- Previous compactor experience is a major asset (but not required)
- Completed the Miller Waste Systems loader training course or a Loader certificate.
- Previous experience operating a Skid Steer will be preferential
- Can work cooperatively with other machine operators
- Are knowledgeable with pre-trip inspections and maintenance of equipment
